Outline of duties:


  • Install, configure, and maintain Cisco wireless network environment consisting of Cisco Identity Service Engine, Passive Identity Connector, and on-premises Cisco Wireless LAN controllers in high-availability.
  • Network management and security including 802.11 b,g,n,ac, and versions 1 through 6.
  • Follow industry best practices for implementing high-density wireless solutions.
  • Complete wireless surveys and provide critical feedback on wireless design and/or troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot wireless access points, saturation, lack of saturation, noise, interference, rogue devices, and client end point devices. End point devices ranging from Windows, Android, iOS, or other.
  • Maintain a guest BYOD infrastructure through sponsorship end-user experience.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and contractors to discover and determine their mobile connectivity needs or concerns.
  • Complete network terminations, network troubleshooting, and swap out network racked equipment on a routine basis.
  • Ability to schedule, plan, and take ownership of large-scale wireless projects consisting of new design, replacement design, or original design improvements.
  • Cisco knowledge in VLANs, switching, and routing to associated SSID's to different subnets.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • AS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • CCNA in wireless
  • Experience with Cisco wireless LAN controllers and Cisco  Identity Service Engine "ISE".
  • Experience with wired and wireless tools.
  • Experience with installing wireless access points with internal and external antennas and their various types, Omni, Yagi, and panel.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • CCNP in wireless
  • Firm knowledge of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, Cisco wireless antennas both indoor and outdoor.
  • Firm understanding how to troubleshoot both wired and wireless network infrustructure ability to read network testing equipement and termination network cables.
  • Knowledge of Ekahau wireless survey software and experience with Ekahau's sidekick.
  • Experience working with contractors in cordinating wireless access points installation, removal, or adjustments.
