Training & Development – Human Resources

 

Position Summary:

 

The Talent Development Specialist will create, develop, implement, and conduct training and development programs for SIA Associates.  The role includes planning, organizing, and developing training curricula, materials, and programs, analyzing training needs and developing programs to address them, evaluating third party training providers, and managing delivery of internal and externally provided training programs.

 

Outline of duties:

 

  • Develops training activities, and unique training programs to fulfill associates specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Maintains records of training conducted by the onboarding team, safety, and the newly formed Technical Training Section.
  • Manages the maintenance of two training buildings.
  • Conducts the development of training using instruction systems design and verified through the application of evaluations using the Kirkpatrick models.
  • Delivers content through a learning management system (LMS).
  • Administers LMS and creates content as computer-based training or CBTs using various software packages.
  • Sources outside training either purchased or licensed from organizations such as LinkedIn Learning, Purdue and or Vincennes Universities.
  • Assists in the administration of training funds budget and performs analysis of training fund expenditure.
  • Develops new and engaging forms of training to enhance the onboarding experience with online or in-person content.
  • Researches, identifies training methods or techniques, implements initiatives, and then tracks the success through both measurement and candidate success in the organization.
  •  All other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and alternatives.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • Relevant certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP
