SIA is the safest automotive manufacturing plant in the United States and is also a pillar in the community due to its numerous fundraising activities held onsite, donations to local charities and plentiful volunteer opportunities. SIA is a frontrunner in environmental conservation being the first Zero-Landfill automotive manufacturing plant and the first to have its campus designated a backyard wildlife habitat. SIA has grown tremendously since its 1989 beginnings and continues to be an example of success within the automotive industry.

 

Primary responsibilities:

 

  • Utilize part drawings, technical specifications, and other standards to determine part requirements and conformance to those requirements using PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, etc.
  • Lead and support in-depth process audits at Suppliers.
  • Track and analyze trend data for key metrics to identify and prioritize improvement projects for continuous improvement at Suppliers.
  • Review, track, and disposition Weekly and Monthly Reports.
  • Train and support supplier contacts in SIA Quality Procedures, forms and standard quality tools and culture change.
  • Effectively interact and communicate with entities inside and outside of SIA.
  • Interact and communicate as needed with SRD, Purchasing, ME, PE, IPC, Production, and suppliers.
  • Project Management of all activities included within the scope of Supplier Audits, Follow Up, Scheduling and Completion.
  • Extensive travel to Suppliers for Audits and follow-up required within the US, Mexico, Canada and overseas.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Technology (i.e. Electrical Engineering Technology,

            Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Power Point, Teams and Share Point.
  • Ability to work and build relationships with all levels of the organization (Managers, Group Leaders, Engineers, Production Associates).
  • Willing to travel domestic and international.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality or engineering position.
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience.
  • Specific process experience or education such as Plastic, Machining, Welding, Stamping, etc.
  • Experience with coordinate measuring equipment use/data interpretation.
  • ASQ Certification.

 

Travel:

This role requires extensive travel (up to 75-80%). This travel can and will include international travel including Japan and other countries. Travel to Mexico is very frequent for this role.
