Process Engineer – Trim & Final
Manufacturing Department
Position Summary:
The Process Engineer develops and optimizes productions processes and equipment to achieve the safety, quality, output, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. A process engineer is responsible for identifying production problems and likewise identifying methods for resolution. They recommend and implement changes to equipment, work methods and other aspects of production to improve the utilization of all relevant resources.
Outline of duties:
General
- Overall Project Management utilizing detailed schedules and milestones to track progress.
- New Manufacturing Process Set-Up / Process Change Implementations
- Evaluation of Equipment Cycle and Associate Process Interaction
- Study Impact of Production Line Sped Changes and impact to manning and process.
- Analyze Process Efficiency and Implement Improvements
- Evaluate Vehicle Components for Cost Reduction and continuous Improving ideas.
- Support ISA New Model Development from concept to implementation of Vehicle
- Study vehicle component interactions and drawing variation to determine fit or installation.
- All other duties as assigned.
Model Launch
- Overall Project Management utilizing detailed schedules and milestones to track progress.
- New Manufacturing Process Set-Up / Process Change Implementations
- Study Impact of Production Line Sped Changes and impact to manning and process.
- Analyze Process Efficiency and Implement Improvements
Facility
- Utilize programs such as Toolsnet and Pokeyweb to gather and analyze data to improve quality and reduce abnormalities.
- Manage and schedule tooling or poka-yoke changes with other departments for complete buy off procedures.
- Investigate torque issues with other departments for tightening improvements and fault reductions.
- Certified Beam training for all eligible Team Leader, Group Leaders, and associates.
Quality
- Analyze quality data to help solve quality issues.
- Support production group leaders with solving quality issues.
- Collect data on chronic defects to help eliminate repeat occurrences.
- Support task teams to solve part issues.
- Collect information and report out on top defects in Quality Improvement meetings.
- Assist and support monthly quality presentations for officer report out meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Engineering Technology or Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years relevant experience
- Engineering Technology or Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
