Summary:
The Process Engineer develops and optimizes production processes and equipment to achieve the safety, quality, output, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. A process engineer is responsible for identifying production problems and likewise identifying methods for resolution. They recommend and implement changes to equipment, work methods and other aspects of production to improve the utilization of all relevant resources. The SIA Welding Process Engineer will also apply their knowledge of welding processes, procedures and equipment to the manufacturing welding processes within the SIA Body Assembly Shop.
Outline of Duties:
- Studies impact of line speed changes on staffing, processes & quality control
- Analyzes process efficiency, recommends, designs, and implements continuous improvement and headcount reduction kaizen.
- Scrap materials cost and waste analysis
- Section wide Indirect inventory procurement
- Section wide ISO Coordination
- Review process related safety concerns for counter-measure potential.
- Assist in Staffing Coordination.
- SBR best practice coordination
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
- Robotic Welding exposure in a manufacturing setting.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using 3D Software (CAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field plus 5 years relevant experience
