Outline of duties:

 

  • Perform failure/variation root cause analyses for internal and field/warranty claims
  • Setup and maintain production torque processes in accordance with Tier2 & 3 requirements
  • Maintain section Poke Yoke systems in accordance with Tier 3 requirements
  • FP Poke and scanner/camera troubleshooting
  • Study impact of line speed changes on staffing, processes & quality control
  • Analyze process efficiency; recommend, design, and implement continuous improvement and headcount reduction kaizen
  • Evaluate powertrain components for ease of installation and finished powertrain quality
  • Study new and existing powertrain components for cost reduction & continuous improvement ideas
  • Coordinate part investigation trials to determine part changes impact to existing assembly line
  • Support model development activity to evaluate process challenges and installation concerns
  • Document test results, using cameras, spreadsheets, documents or other tools
  • Bulk material cost and waste analysis
  • Scrap materials cost and waste analysis
  • Jig replacement and test bench harness ordering for normal production wear
  • Analyze downtime information for high frequency processes, studies and recommends kaizens for OPR improvement
  • Review process related safety concerns for counter-measure potential

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification
  • Relatable experience with:
    • auditing processes, taking measurements, and interpreting data
    • designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes, including process simulations and risk assessment
    • developing best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
  • Ability to work under pressure with cost and time constraints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Working experience in process engineering
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Ability to read and understand part drawings
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations
