SIA is the safest automotive manufacturing plant in the United States and is also a staple in the community due to its numerous fundraising activities held onsite, donations to local charities and plentiful volunteer opportunities. SIA is a frontrunner in environmental conservation being the first Zero-Landfill automotive manufacturing plant and the first to have its campus designated a backyard wildlife habitat. SIA has grown tremendously since its 1989 beginnings and continues to be an example of success within the automotive industry.

 

Outline of duties:

  • Operational Knowledge - deep knowledge of and practical experience driving continuous improvement through the effective application of lean manufacturing and supply chain principles.
  • Supervise daily supply chain operations to meet Quality, Production, Regulatory and Compliance requirements, and Logistical Operations. 
  • Coach and develop a high-level understanding of the SIA Materials Management Systems and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain open communications internally across diverse work groups and externally with suppliers both within the U.S. and internationally.
  • Business Acumen - well developed critical thinking skills which allow for accurate interpretation of complex data sets. The ability to not only assess risks and opportunities, but also the expertise to achieve results based on those assessments. Be comfortable with ambiguous information and possess the ability to draw conclusions in a fluid environment.
  • Administration and Management - knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership styles, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Critical Thinking - Use logic to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems. The Parts Ordering Specialist must be a confident decision maker, analyze a situation, draw conclusions, and execute actionable countermeasures.
  • Teamwork/Growth Management - the Parts Ordering Specialist leads with a teamwork / talent mindset; partnering with their chain of command to identify and empower others within the group and be committed to performance management for the section's entire workforce.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education requirement - Associate Degree in supply chain or a related field or verifiable experience in a supply chain/manufacturing environment of 5+ years
  • Outstanding people/communication skills, both verbal and written the desire to build lasting relationships with people all over the world.
  • Outstanding computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, and excellent planning skills.
  • Must be able to comprehend legal documents, including the ability to comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Highly motivated, articulate, detail oriented, with a well-developed emotional intelligence.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient Experience in end-to-end supply chain operations, including supplier management, internal and logistics, inventory control, and component parts management.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill the above operational responsibilities, ensure the deliverables and achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions with no supervision and which supports the department's responsibilities and goals.
  • Understanding of accounting or finance with knowledge of the goods being procured in a business or delivery setting.
