Outline of Duties:

The Paint Engineer develops and optimizes productions processes and equipment to achieve the safety, quality, output, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. A Paint Engineer is responsible for identifying production problems and likewise identifying methods for resolution. This role recommends and implements changes to equipment, work methods and other aspects of production to improve the utilization of all relevant resources.

The essential functions described below are intended to broadly define the expectations of the role.

 

  1. Examine and analyze safety, quality, productivity, and cost data. Provide reports to Management and Production Group Leaders.
  2. Maintains and provides bulk and indirect material reports to Management and Production Group Leaders.
  3. Develops and analyzes statistical data to establish and control all aspects of the assigned processes.
  4. Point for significant process optimization changes and cost saving opportunities.
  5. Develop and implement Kaizens to achieve shop targets.
  6. Review product changes to determine process and equipment changes required.
  7. Investigate product quality changes as well as facility changes needed related to current/new model development.
  8. Process planning and modifications (current/new model development)
  9. Coordinate Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Contractor Meetings to determine and implement Kaizens related to assigned processes.
  10. Coordinate safety training to include orientation training for Contractors.
  11. Conduct Equipment Reviews and Buyoffs for new or modified equipment. 
  12. Review and interpret OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, or other applicable regulations.
  13. Reviews EIS and other ISO documents to verify work instructions. Provide feedback to Management and Production Group Leaders as needed.
  14. Packaging Sketch reviews for racks, totes, jigs, equipment.
  15. Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field
