Outline of duties:

The Onboarding Staff is responsible for facilitating the onboarding programs for both temporary and full-time Production Associates on multiple shifts. This position organizes program content & schedules, creates assignments, and coordinates available instructional staff to support the human capital requirements of the organization. In addition, this role will perform analysis to ensure the instruction and learning opportunities to support the goals of the organization through constant monitoring of organizational needs. This position will also develop instructional techniques and continuously improve content delivery through collaboration with onboarding instructors.


Essential Functions:

  • Fosters a learning environment for program participants in alignment with SIA's emphasis on safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Creates and maintains onboarding schedules in concert with organizational needs and instructor training/availability.
  • Identifies training needs for both trainers and program participants including, but not limited to, payroll, benefits, organizational expectations, safety, environmental, and manufacturing/assembly subjects.
  • Uses Instructional Design theories to create periods of instruction and level 3 evaluations to determine learning success for onboarding programs.
  • Allocates onboarding supplies within budget capabilities, proposing improvements and or cost savings where applicable.
  • Identifies and implements onboarding and staffing kaizen opportunities. 
  • Coordinates facility utilization and responds to customer needs.
  • Monitors technology resources and suggests improvements as needed. 
  • Identifies new Associate competencies via onboarding assessments and recommends Section assignments as a result.  Further monitors new Associate assignments to ensure proper alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Stays abreast of instructional techniques that achieve both behavioral and results-level learning milestones (coordinates information delivery with hands-on activity for sustained learning program success).
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports training data. Identifies relevant data correlations to maintain program success and initiate improvements where applicable.
  • Addresses behavior and academic concerns with program participants as appropriate and communicates issues to employers when necessary.
  • Provides constructive feedback to program participants when necessary with dignity and respect. 
  • Is accountable for key performance indicators (KPI's) and effectiveness of program performance.
  • Actively participates in section and departmental staff meetings.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Organizational Development, Education, or other applicable field and at least 2 years' applicable professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with organizational Learning Management Systems (such as SuccessFactors or similar HR information systems).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Education or similar field and at least 5 years' applicable professional experience.
  • Bi-lingual capability in Spanish both in writing and speaking.
