Outline of duties:

  • Process modification and planning: Experience in reviewing product changes to determine required process or equipment modifications. Experience designing production processes to meet safety, quality, cost, & delivery targets. Investigate process bottlenecks to develop and implement solutions that increase throughput. Design AutoCAD layout for new cells or cell modifications.
  • Experience with manning level and standard work studies.
  • Demonstrated analytical data-based problem-solving skills.                                                                                                                                                                                            
  • Mechanical Design: Ability to read and understand product and equipment mechanical design drawings and dimensions.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
  • Project Management: Demonstrated development and control of project master schedules and budgets. Experience writing project specifications and instructions. Experience managing vendor/team activities during design, fabrications, installation, and integration.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     
  • Communication/Leadership: Good overall written/oral communication skills, ability to summarize complex technical concepts in written and verbal content. Ability to lead groups/teams to complete complex projects and activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering Technology, BS Industrial Engineering, BS Industrial Technology degree or a related field.
  • 3 years minimum process engineering experience in a high-volume production manufacturing environment with exposure to robotics, automated material handling systems, and communication networks.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
  • Proficient using MS Office skills and MS Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to analyze data and make data driven decisions to resolve quality issues, process adjustments, increase throughput, and reduce waste.
  • Working knowledge of Geometrical Dimension and Tolerance (GDT).
  • Ergonomics/Safety knowledge and hands on experience counter measuring safety and ergonomics concerns.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Catia. Working understanding of quality fundamentals, basic measurement methods, and statistical process control (SPC).

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience in a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     
  • Automotive industry experience. Body assembly experience is a plus.                                                                                                                                                                                                      
  • Experience in an automated industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to robotics, automated material handling systems, and communication networks.                                                                                                                                                                                                          
  • Knowledge using AutoCAD, Solidworks, Catia, Delmia process simulation, and MOST time study methodology.                                                                                           
  • Working understanding of quality fundamentals, basic measurement methods, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
