Summary
The Model Change Engineer helps ensure that the Manufacturing Engineering department is conducting the planning, budgeting, and implementation of those activities necessary to prepare the facilities and processes to launch special new models on time. Special new models are those that are 5 years or longer until the SOP date, and/or involve new technologies that involve significant changes to the facilities, equipment, and processes. The incumbent is responsible for conducting internal business analysis, scope of work, and supporting the optimization of processes.
Essential Job Functions
The essential functions described below are intended to broadly define the expectations of the role.
1. Facilitates Manufacturing Engineering improvement plans to prepare production processes to achieve department & plant targets for special new models.
2. Participates in cross-functional teams to collect information from SBR and SIA sections to facilitate planning.
3. Initiate, evaluate, and create reports for all of Manufacturing Engineering for various events and reporting activities.
4. Evaluate new technologies and study feasibility of use for SIA manufacturing.
5. Use broad understanding of SIA manufacturing processes to develop concepts and provide supporting documentation.
6. Facilitates development and control of project master schedules.
7. Use of various CAD software
8. Demonstrates development and control of project master schedules and budget management
9. Communicates effectively with all Associates, Leadership, vendors, etc.
10. All other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant experience or equivalent
- Engineering, Engineering Technology or Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years relevant experience or equivalent
- Engineering, Engineering Technology or Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field

Work Environment
This role operates in a professional open office environment subject to frequent interruptions and distractions, particularly during heavy customer service periods (e.g., in-between production shifts). Required to work in an industrial manufacturing setting that will include moving and/or assembly lines. This role is occasionally required to utilize manufacturing equipment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The role frequently collaborates with colleagues, internal customers/Associates, external contractors, and management.
Work Hours
This role generally works administrative hours (8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday – Friday) and must be available for frequent evening telephone and conference calls. This role is subject to overtime to meet demands of production, which may include scheduled weekends, shutdowns, and daily overtime to meet department goals and deadlines. This role does not currently allow for remote work opportunities.
Travel
This role requires less than five percent international and domestic travel.
