Indirect Procurement Specialist/MRO Buyer

Position Summary:
This position is 80% tactical and 20% strategic. This position is responsible for mitigating costs and risk to the business through contracting and sourcing MRO parts. Day to Day tactical and transactional responsibilities may include part master maintenance, vendor master maintenance, part creation, po administrative issues, sourcing and resourcing projects, budget management, and commercial issue resolution. High level negotiation tactics and high-level data analysis will be used to influence a party to adjust their position or for SIA to make the best business decision. Basic supplier account management and supplier relationship building is a necessity along with the ability to travel. Willingness to be curious and learn about the products we purchase will aid in the success of the candidate.
Outline of Duties:
- Indirect Parts sourcing activity (strategy, analysis, negotiation; target and schedule achievement)
- Indirect Parts cost reduction activity (strategy, analysis, negotiation, target and schedule achievement)
- Daily activity and support for supplier quality, delivery, development, AP/AR, service parts
- Works closely with suppliers and departments to resolve issues critical to the supply chain.
- Receives and lightly analyzes data (cost evaluations, benchmarking, commercial issues, risk mitigation)
- Ability to manage MRO accounts and develop good relationships with suppliers.
- Ability to achieve due dates and meet company objectives.
- Continuous development of skills, performance, and workmanship
- Support upper management as needed (special assignments)
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in supply chain, manufacturing, business, engineering, finance, or a related field of study plus 1+ years relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years relevant experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of SAP, SAP S4/HANA, and/or Ariba procurement software
- Familiarity with Japanese culture and open office environment
