Overview:  Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. was America’s first zero-landfill automotive manufacturing company and is the safest vehicle manufacturer in the country. SIA is a 4.4 million square foot facility with 6400+ associates and is growing. The automotive manufacturing plant houses both production and administration offices. The Financial Controls Information Systems Specialists will work with our IS tech services group within SIA’s Information Systems department (information technology). IS as a whole consists of roughly 60 associates and is located within the administrative section of the plant. The position will have a moderate-to-significant interaction with the finance department which is within direct proximity to the IS group’s physical location within the building.


The role: Financial Controls Assurance

You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with IT, Finance, and services firm partners to execute an SAP S/4 HANA greenfield, best practices implementation, then sustain and build on that implementation as part of SIA's long-term SAP roadmap.  You will analyze requirements and system capabilities, meeting frequently with various parties to ensure that all needs are addressed, and that people, process, and technology are aligned in supporting the efficient administration of SIA's manufacturing operations.

  • Provide implementation and application functional and technical support in the module areas of Financial Controlling, General Ledger/Cost Center Accounting, Asset Accounting, Material Ledger, Financial Reporting and related areas.
  • Stay up-to-date with SAP best practices and system capabilities, and align these with business processes and objectives to deliver competitive advantages.
  • Work with solution integrators, corporate IT team, and business process owners to plan, implement, and test SAP implementations, system/process improvements and technical updates
  • Develop expertise in relevant business areas and ensure that the system supports the current and future needs of the business.
  • Lead or conduct requirements management activities, as necessary, ensuring that the impact of changes is well understood and approved by the appropriate stakeholders within the organization, and that company level activities are considered.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all related business and technical areas.  Be a trusted partner to Finance and other customers.
  • Develop and deliver clear communications to a variety of audiences. Foster open communication with all stakeholders.
  • Plan, prioritizes, sequence, and manage portfolio of work to maximize delivery of business value while considering stakeholder and business time commitments.

Qualification requirements: Financial Controls Assurance

  • 4 year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance/Accounting, Manufacturing, Engineering or a related subject; or any 4 year degree and equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Expert knowledge of SAP Finance-related capabilities, functional and technical.  Strong SAP general knowledge.
  • Very strong communication and collaboration skills and a desire to work closely with business users.
  • 5+ years SAP experience, with at least 3 in a similar role to this position.
  • Project management skills, certifications welcomed.
  • Presentation and change management experience.
