Group Leader - Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineering

Position Summary:

The Group Leader, SQA Mass Production Engineering provides first-level leadership and establishes the day-to-day goals and objectives of the team.  This role is responsible for teams’ achieving the Company’s objectives for safety, quality, cost, delivery, and team harmony. Through open communication, the Group Leader is responsible for the performance of their team and team members and is entrusted with the authority to secure compliance with their directives.

 

Outline of Duties:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to help team of engineers achieve SQCD targets.
  • Lead weekly defect occurrence reduction meetings and coach engineers on improvement activities.
  • Provide engineering guidance and leadership for urgent or chronic supplied part related concerns.
  • Review ISR/PCR submissions for adherence to SQA standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all company rules, policies, procedures & takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Lead and train a team of quality engineers to ensure continuous improvement by directing, prioritizing, and following up.
  • Participate and lead multi department cross functional task teams.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field plus 3 years of relavent experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing Quality 
  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel to various suppliers

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing quality or Manufacturing engineering position. 
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience. 
  • ASQ/SME/Six Sigma or other applicable professional certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Engineering field
  • 5+ years Leadership Experience
