Primary responsibilities:


  • Guide the PP team to work with various areas (including, but not limited to, manufacturing, quality, materials, and engineering) to achieve mh/unit objectives.
  • Work with other groups within SIA to support the overall production planning business objectives.
  • Ability to work with SIA Information Systems, Payroll, Finance, Corporate Planning, HR, and all areas that utilize hourly labor to develop and improve different systems used to support labor budgeting and labor reporting.
  • Make shop-floor visits to audit and evaluate actual conditions and help improve and document requirements.
  • Oversee discussions with shops regarding headcount requirements - analyze requests for justification and need.
  • Investigate Kaizens to manufacturing processes to reduce resource requirements and develop proposals and justification for potential headcount reductions.
  • Utilize available tools, including Simulation Software, to model production processes and evaluate proposed options.
  • Lead the development and improvement of systems to track and report resource requirements (budget vs. actual) including headcount and mh/unit.
  • Assist with documentation of special labor for potential cost reduction or reimbursement.
  • Analyze historical data to make recommendations for future ARO requirements.
  • Lead meetings with SIA Officers, SIA Senior Managers, and other management staff to provide overall results, address issues, and share ideas for improvement.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to discuss upcoming assignments.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, related field, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Prior Supervisory / Management experience.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or 10+ years in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, or related industry.
  • 3+ years of management and/or supervisory experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience working with areas to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Past Project Management experience leading technically focused project and activities with demonstrated ability developing project scope, creating, and managing project schedule and budget and focus on achieving Cost, Quality and Delivery targets.
