Position Summary: 

The Group Leader of Data Analytics is responsible for leading a team of data engineers, analytics architects, and data analysts, ensuring that their work aligns with company, section, and group strategic objectives. This role bridges the gap between technical data expertise and strategic business objectives, while providing technical oversight to the Data Analytics team.

 

Outline of duties:

  • Provide direction, mentorship, and supervision to the data analytics team members. This involves guiding their work, setting goals, and ensuring their professional growth.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data analytics projects. This includes assigning tasks, managing timelines, and ensuring projects meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Conduct advanced data analysis to derive insights and make recommendations. This could involve statistical analysis, predictive modeling, data mining, and other analytical techniques.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across datasets. Implement processes and standards for data validation and cleaning.
  • Stay updated with the latest data analytics tools and technologies. Evaluate and recommend tools that enhance efficiency and effectiveness of data analysis processes.
  • Work closely with other teams such as IT, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand data needs, prioritize requests, and align analytics efforts with business goals.
  • Create and present reports, dashboards, and visualizations that communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. Ensure these outputs are actionable and meet business requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of data analytics strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business decisions and innovation.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Seek opportunities to optimize processes, enhance data collection methods, and streamline analysis workflows.
  • Foster learning and development among team members. Provide training on new tools, techniques, and best practices in data analytics. Encourage knowledge sharing and skill enhancement within the team.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
  • 5-7 years of experience in data analytics development or data engineering, with some experience in leadership and supervision.
  • Proficiency in SQL and extensive recent experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or others.
  • Strong Analytical abilities with knowledge of statistical analysis and data modeling. Ability to interpret data, identify trends and derive insights.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills and business acumen
  • Awareness of ethical and legal standards related to data privacy, security, and governance, such as HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in Python and R
