Outline of duties:
The Group Leader, Associate Training & Development is responsible for advancing the capability of the organization's workforce through the implementation of organizational training and development initiatives. This role assesses organizational development needs to strategically develop and drive training initiatives in order to prepare Associates across all levels of the organization to effectively perform their job responsibilities. Additionally, this role evaluates future organizational needs and participates in the creation of both training and development strategy to prepare the workforce for future performance. This role leads the training team, which is responsible to research, design and implement methods to educate and enhance organizational performance.
Primary responsibilities:
- Coordinates training and development needs assessments throughout the organization as necessary.
- Oversees the creation of organizational training and development initiatives with corresponding educational objectives based on needs assessments for the organization to include, at a minimum, programs aimed at supporting successful organizational performance on engagement, retention & performance management KPIs.
- Leads the execution of Associate training and development initiatives to strategically meet the needs of both the organization and its workforce.
- Ensures that follow-up studies are conducted on all completed training activity to evaluate and measure results and modify programs as needed.
- Analyzes spending against the departmental budget and acts as the subject matter expert for the organization’s training budget.
- Remains current on educational theory in order obtain and/or develop the most effective training materials utilizing a variety of media and methods.
- Trains and coaches Managers, Group Leaders, and others related to Associate development initiatives.
- Ensures Associates have knowledge and understand the value proposition of training and development initiatives and resources.
- Leads Variable Worker & Direct Hire orientation activities to ensure quality human capital resources are developed/prepared for SIA.
- Responsible for the general facility oversight of both the Technical Training Center and the Training & Reception Center.
- Supports compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
- Three years of relevant experience in organizational development, talent acquisition, or other related HR discipline
- Excellent managerial skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent team-collaboration skills including experience with dealing with multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Ability to foster teamwork and influence others
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field
- SHRM-CP, PHR or similar certification
