Outline of Duties:

The Electrification Procurement Analyst is responsible for creating procurement strategies for commodities related to EV Manufacturing. This role is responsible for effectively leading a cross-functional team, communicating Procurement strategy with internal and external stakeholders, and implementing PDCA to realize the best QCD Possible.

The essential functions described below are intended to broadly define the expectations of the role.

  • Meet with SUBARU Japan (SBR) periodically to understand the future portfolio and production volume.

  • Coordinates with SIA/SBR buyers, engineers, and other departments to understand the technical trend and Procurement strategy needs.

  • Utilize benchmark tools, contact suppliers and SBR engineers, and visit Expos to study US electrification trends, technologies, supply chain, supply and demand, and report to Management & SBR.

  • Communicate with suppliers, credit companies, or other sources to gather financial information. Evaluate and monitor suppliers' financial status—and audit new suppliers to ensure stable quality.

  • Collaborate with the SBR Cost Engineers, SIA, and SBR Procurement Planning team to create cost tables and cost strategies and lead the implementation.

  • Collaborate with buyer groups and SBR, lead the creation of supplier-based strategies, and review them with senior management and buyer sections.

  • Lead the discussion and negotiation with the internal CFT team or external stakeholders to implement and realize the strategy reported.

  • Work on sourcing and cost reduction activity of related parts based on the strategy above with SBR and achieve the internal QCD Targets.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

  • Three to five years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Cost Engineering, or a related field of study

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and the automotive industry

  • Automotive Procurement Buyer experience

  • Understanding of Japanese business culture

  • Understanding of the Japanese language

 

Work Hours:

This role generally works administrative hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday) and is required to work evenings and weekends as needed to support 24/7 business operations.

 

Travel:

This role requires travel (up to 35%). This will include domestic travel for training and/or business collaboration purposes. International travel to Japan, Mexico, Canada, and/or other countries may be required. Must maintain current passport and driver’s license to assure travel eligibility.
