Position Overview: The SIA Compliance Section Manager is responsible to oversee the company’s legal and regulatory compliance responsibilities, as well as compliance with internal company policies and procedures. The Compliance Section Manager is also responsible for centralizing compliance activities, including data security, finance, human resources, procurement, and oversight of SIA’s ISO 9001, 14001, 50001 and 45001 management systems; all while achieving the key performance indicators established by the SIA Operations Committee.  


Outline of duties:


  • Oversee business operations relating to compliance including policies, procedures and risk mitigation activities including the company’s ISO 9001, 14001, 50001, and 45001 management systems.
  • Manage control systems to deal with violation of laws and regulations, as well as internal company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and oversee development of company risk mitigation and control strategies in areas including data security, human resources, finance, and procurement.
  • Align with internal company section that communicates with parent company on issues related to risk mitigation and compliance, including audits by parent company.
  • Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks and common issues across multiple departments.
  • Perform and/or supervise periodic internal audits related to adherence with company policies and procedures.
  • Interact with and coordinate external auditors on the company’s ISO systems and other methods for internal controls.
  • Oversee internal reporting systems such as corporate compliance hotline and communicate to employees about mechanisms to report compliance concerns.
  • Maintain, support, and enforce company record retention policy and serve on Record Retention Oversight Committee.
  • Negotiate, support, and optimize company insurance placements, structures, and programs, and collaborate with broker consultant to ensure appropriate risk profile.
  • Develop and lead training sessions on compliance issues with both internal and external (vendor) parties.
  • Supervise Compliance Section, including personnel and management of section budget and performance related to targets and goals.
  • Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of changes on organizational processes.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Law, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Compliance Manager, Compliance Officer, or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001.
  • MS Office, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving, including knowledge of problem-solving techniques (e.g., PDCA, fishbone, SWOT, etc.) and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge or experience with ISO 50001 and 45001 systems.
  • 3-5 years in Manufacturing or related industry.
