Outline of duties:

 

  • Interpret engineering blueprints and program the CMM to measure component parts and assemblies.
  • Measure supplied parts using CMM and other measurement equipment.
  • Clearly communicate inspection findings to engineering, manufacturing and quality departments.
  • Perform routine dimensional analysis on a scheduled basis.
  • Work with internal and external technical personal to develop and validate part measurement methods.
  • Evaluate inspection results to determine conformance to requirements.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 2 years’ experience using blueprints in fulfillment of job responsibilities.
  • Math Aptitude …education or training to include Geometry and Trigonometry.
  • Strong understanding of (GD &T) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  •  1 year experience programming coordinate measuring machine
  • 2 years’ experience with precision inspection equipment (i.e., micrometers, calipers, height gage, gage blocks, optical comparator etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Excel, Word.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience viewing/analyzing and exporting files in Computer Aided Design and Drafting software (i.e., AutoCAD, Catia, Solid works etc.)
  • Familiarity with CMM programming languages MCOSMOS, MSURF, Polyworks.
  • Quality certifications such as ASQ CMI/CQT, Six Sigma etc.
  • Automotive Quality Experience.
  • Previous training and experience in Statistical Quality Control and Sampling Procedures.
  • Statistical Software experience.
  • Associate degree in a related technical field.
