Outline of duties:

 

The Benefits Leave Coordinator is the main point of contact for FMLA, Disability, and Military Leave related customer service needs.  This position is responsible for administrating Associate leaves of absence in coordination with the leave administration vendor, managing the disability income replacement programs, and participating in process improvement activities.

 

The essential functions described below are intended to broadly define the expectations of the role.

 

  1. Main point of contact for leave of absence questions from associates in face-to-face interactions, by phone, and through email correspondence
  2. Responsible for the data integrity of company leave of absence records
  3. Partners with leave administration vendor to administer leave claims processes 
  4. Educates associates and leaders on SIA leave policies and processes by conducting meetings and responding to requests
  5. Maintains associate confidence by keeping leave of absence information confidential 
  6. Main point of contact for assigned leave vendor, including oversite of monthly billing
  7. Maintain current knowledge of Family Medical Leave Act, military leaves, Americans with Disability Act, and other applicable federal and state leave laws and company policies 
  8. Partners with payroll to communicate short-term disability pay 
  9. Makes recommendations to management on customer service themes and solutions
  10. All other duties as assigned

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

•             High School diploma or equivalent, with 2+ years of relevant experience

•             Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills

•             Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

•             Great attention to detail

•             Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other applicable federal and state leave laws

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Associate degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field with 1+ years relevant experience
