Associate Relations Rep

Reports to: Section Manager                                                                                                Position Type: Full-time

Classification: Salaried Exempt                                                                                            Shift:  Second Shift                             


As an AR Representative, your primary focus will be ensuring that policies and procedures are applied consistently so that every Associate receives fair and equitable treatment. You are to reinforce that every Associate is to be treated with dignity and respect.  The AR Rep coaches, clarifies, and ensures consistency throughout their assigned Section


Essential Job Functions

The essential functions described below are intended to broadly define the expectations of the role.

  1. Attend meetings, follow up on announcements / communications, conduct investigations, and research & develop reports as needed to support the AR Section’s function.
  2. Be a strategic partner who is an agent of change.  Coach, guide, advise members of leadership (Team Leaders, Group Leaders and Managers) in the following areas: building collaborative relationships between associates and leadership; interpersonal relations; fostering a positive work environment; HR related issues, policies, and procedures; one on one meetings between SIA leadership and associates
  3. Be present on the Manufacturing floor in assigned area; participate in onboarding and introductions of new associates
  4. Assist with bridging gaps in communication that lead to misunderstandings between Associates, Team Leaders, Group Leaders and Managers by building rapport with those in assigned coverage area.
  5. Assist Associates with the understanding and filing of complaints through the appropriate process, investigate concerns and make recommendations for resolution; be a champion for Associate issues and concerns regarding complaints, conflict, and dispute resolution
  6. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
  7. Operate as a liaison between HR and other areas in matters pertaining to benefits, safety, health and security. 
  8. Serve as spokesperson for SIA’s position regarding unions
  9. All other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certification required/Bachelor's degree preferred; 1-3 years relevant experience


Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required OR Associate's Degree plus 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Verifiable leadership experience

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional open office and a manufacturing environment.  It is subject to frequent interruptions and distractions, particularly during heavy customer service periods (e.g. in-between production shifts).   Required to work in an industrial manufacturing setting that will include moving and/or assembly lines. This job is occasionally required to utilize manufacturing equipment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.   The role frequently collaborates with colleagues, internal customers/Associates and management. This job operates 30% in an Office / Admin environment and 70% in a fast paced, Manufacturing environments.  Position is required to adhere to all safety and PPE requirements at all times.


Work Hours

This position generally works second shift production hours which are 4:30pm – 1:00am; modified hours may be scheduled including daily and weekend overtime.  Additional support may be required for training, special projects, shutdowns and holidays. 



This position requires minimal travel.  Occasional travel may be required mainly for off-site training or business collaboration purposes.
