Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager - Project Management is responsible for leading and/or assisting with managing a project from its initial concept to final delivery, ensuring it is completed on time, within scope, and under budget. Acting as the project lead or project manager they will perform as the central point of contact, coordinating cross-functional teams and bridging the gap between stakeholders and the technical execution team.
Outline of Duties:
- Defines project goals, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Assist in leading skilled project teams by assigning tasks and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure high performance.
- Estimates costs, tracking expenditures, and reallocating funds to keep the project financially viable.
- Develop detailed timelines with milestones and deadlines and monitor progress to prevent delays.
- Identifies project bottlenecks or risks and creates contingency plans to address potential impacts.
- Provides regular status reports to stakeholders and upper management, managing expectations, and gathering feedback.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet established quality standards and technical specifications.
- Identifies areas of improvement within the section and presents concepts of internal kaizen
- Analyzes future budgeting and financial control needs of section and establish supporting strategies
- Develops and utilize reports to support data-driven decision making
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Four years of relevant experience
- Strong background with working as part of an integrated team
- Proficiency using project management software
- Proven organizational skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Project management experience leading technically focused projects
- Previous management/supervisory experience in automotive manufacturing
- Experience in automotive or component manufacturing budgetary systems
- Strong background with working as part of an integrated team
