Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Production Systems, Information Technology supports the development, installation, and administration of manufacturing information systems and network operations. Additionally, this role is responsible for the management of a team of professionals to meet organizational objectives within the Information Technology service line.
Outline of duties:
- Maintains existing manufacturing information systems and oversees configuration, implementation, and user acceptance of new or enhanced modules.
- Collects data management or functionality requirements from production, maintenance, and engineering departments and coordinates with internal development departments to ensure requirements are met.
- Ensures that system specifications, input, and output processes, and working parameters for hardware and software are compatible with existing systems and promote stability across technology platforms.
- Monitors system availability against established performance standards and troubleshoots and resolves networking and operating system problems.
- Oversees all facets of network operations relating to architecture, engineering, storage, security, development, and maintenance.
- Establishes overarching protocol for the design, installation, configuration, and optimization of network architecture to ensure business requirements are being met.
- Collaborates with Technical Services to create policies for implementing and integrating firewalls, web servers, backup systems, and cloud technologies in collaboration with technical services.
- Manages cross-functional teams to recommend and countermeasure plant-wide issues.
- Manages vendor project activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent
- Five years of relevant experience
- Previous leadership experience, including effective management, communication, technical and remote collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Mater’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- iFix, Cisco, VMware, HMI, PLC or similar industry certifications
