Company Overview: Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. or “SIA”, located in Lafayette, Indiana, is the only Subaru vehicle manufacturing facility outside of Japan. SIA is a 4.4 million square foot automotive OEM – meaning our manufacturing process begins with coils of steel and ends with the high-quality vehicles you see out on the roads. SIA is the safest automotive manufacturing plant in the United States and is also a staple in the community due to its numerous fundraising activities held onsite, donations to local charities and plentiful volunteer opportunities. Outline of duties:

• Demonstrates a positive role model for all Associates to promote each Team Member's success.
• Maintains familiarity with all job duties and skill levels of all Team Members and monitors events that may affect Team performance.
• Responsible for the assessment and development of each Team Member's performance.
• Ensure compliance with all Company Policies, ISO procedures and take appropriate corrective actions, if necessary.
• Aligns leadership styles to that of SIA's Principles and values including integrity and strong core ethical values.
• Lead buyers in achieving annual cost reduction activities.
• Oversee annual supplier conference and awards ceremony.
• Travel with buyers to suppliers as necessary for sourcing activity, commercial issues, or cost reduction activity.
• Ensure departmental ISO procedures are accurate and up to date.
• Lead bulk material and indirect material sourcing activity.
• Lead contract negotiations and contract renewals by service target dates.
• Supervision of Indirect Procurement (10) and Central Crib Associates (3).

• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Organizational Leadership or related field.
• 3 - 5 years Supervisory/Leadership experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must be willing to give and take direction.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and hold self and others accountable.
• Demonstrate behaviors which require initiative and self-motivation.
• Ability to treat others with Dignity and Respect.
• Ability to give presentation to officers of the company.
• Ability to oversee multiple ongoing projects.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4-year degree in Procurement, Supply-Chain, Organizational Leadership, Business, or related field of study or 5+ years of Supervisory/Leadership experience.
• Previous experience negotiating cost and legal terms and conditions on supplier contracts.
• Basic knowledge of SAP, SAP S4/HANA, and or Ariba procurement software.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
• Familiarity with Japanese culture and open office environment.
• Ability to work and communicate with other departments within the company (Legal, Environmental, Engineering, Maintenance, Production).
